Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a situation and I’m unsure of how to handle it. I reached out to a local “personality” if you will, to start on a free portfolio builder project. He’s an older gent who runs, films, and manages a YouTube channel around our town filming live bands. I made the site for him as a means to promote his channel and the music community in town. I met with him this past week to go over content, as I had the site structure built already. He basically tells me “this looks great, it’s a perfect way to represent my channel, BUT...”And this is a big “but”He wants to get away from YouTube entirely, he says they’ve flagged and taken down some of his content (wrongfully) over copyright claims. So his idea is to migrate all of his content over to a giant library site of everything he’s filmed over the past 5 years. None of this was communicated to me whilst building the initial site. I asked him about the current design I was working on, and he said it was great, and basically “the more the merrier” (as if I can pull beautifully designed sites out of my ass) So as a fairly new web developer myself, my questions are:A) Is this realistically doable for one person?B) I already did one site for him for free, how much should I charge him?He doesn’t seem to have a lot of money to throw at this thingC) should I just let him have this free site and tell him to look elsewhere for this larger project? Thanks for reading, this group always has good advice.
