How to make spam backlinks eliminated as fast as possible?

Some years ago, spam linking used to be a very common practice in SEO that worked well. I mean that in the past having a lot of links from free host microsites (like WordPress, Blogspot, etc.) could make it possible to run a fully effective link building, as well as overall SEO strategy. I mean that using one of those web hostings available in open access, you can spawn as many websites as you want - for just a single purpose. Linking back to your main website or blog backed with a keyword-rich text anchors. But nowadays with a Penguin update, the things have changed dramatically - the topic of microsite spam linking is calling us to know how to make these backlinks eliminated fast and for good. Of course, there is a lot of websites and blogs still found on the Web for which this type of already Grey-Hat link building appears to be well-performing. I mean those webmasters, blog or site owners are often delaying action to exclude microsite spam links - just because they seem to be helping, at least for the moment.

But I still insist that you’d better not only know how to make these backlinks removed fast but consider eliminating them on your website or blog as soon as possible. Why this matter is so pressing? If my assumption is correct, the forthcoming Penguin update might as well be taught to detect these spam links. That way, considering that Google search engine is doing best to fight against everything unnatural - it means that one day you may find yourself in big trouble. As I already stated, this type of link building comes now definitely against the Main Webmaster Guidelines by Google. That’s why no need to say that there is a potentially high risk of earning yourself a ranking demotion. In worst case scenario everything may end up even with a manual review, usually applying for a more severe and often irreversible ranking penalty.

After all, it’s only up to you to decide - whether to check yourself and get rid of these potentially dangerous links on short notice or to keep things just how they were. Anyway, below I’m going to run through some basic options showing how to make spam backlinks detected fast and excluded upon detection.

1. First of all, try removing the most apparent unnatural links using Google’s Webmaster Tools or any of the known online checker tools like Semalt Analyzer (Semalt), Open Site Explorer (Moz), or Majestic SEO. Note, however, that a certain part of these spam links will inevitably remain unlisted, and hence hardly detectable.

2. Next, check your Google Analytics Web Traffic and proceed with “Referrals” section. Doing so, export as much data as possible I inspect the list of referrals and maybe you will be lucky to come across a part of uncovered free host microsite spam. Note, however, that far not all of them will have generated clicks, but some of them must have got them.

3. To get everything purely clean & clear, you might as well do some crazy spreadsheet work. Everything is simple but will take a lot of time and effort. All you need is to create the main list of known microsites, another list with all possibly used keywords - to rework both of them into one single list of. At last, use online tools like Scrapebox to crawl all suspicious domains to see if they actually exist - and take action if they really do.
