Is there any backlink site list to avoid at all cost?
Of course, everybody needs websites to link with the other online sources across the Web for higher ranking on Google. Some types of websites, however, should be avoided at all cost - they are more likely to do harm to your website, rather than give any actual ranking boost. And there are two general issues in the whole process of the Search Engine Optimization. First of all, you should consider reviewing your existing backlink site list - you can easily check it using Google’s Search Console. And here we are finally coming to the point - you should know all about the worst backlink site list with the highest chances to get yourself into trouble when dealing with them.
Unfortunately, there can’t be any single tool, or solution to take a final decision - you will need to visit every website manually before to finally conclude to link with it. In fact, you should be able to make your own assessment and have a final judgment yourself in about 30 seconds. And no backlink site list can help you with that - neither set of top recommended websites, nor least desirable ones for link building.
And of course, you should never evaluate the website based just on its visual appearance, or any other property taken alone. Remember, there are myriads of spammy websites looking just like the real ones, and vice versa - some really great sources for link building might as well seem to be nothing but spam. Let’s face it once again - no backlink site list can possibly help with that. But here is the answer - I suggest simply considering everything would be good enough to link with, apart from the following:
Non-indexed Resources
If you are going to link with any websites or blogs, which prove to be not indexed in Google, forget it. In fact, there is almost 100% guarantee that such sources have already been penalized by Google. It means that they must have repeatedly been using illegal tactics and manipulative actions to trick with google. You will never want your website to have its current ranking pulled down, right? Not to say that it may even come to extremes like a complete ban on search.
Pages with Low Trust and Weak Authority
Check every potential candidate you want to link with by using free online tools to determine their actual PA (page authority), DA (domain authority), as well as PR (page rank). Should you feel a lack of at least one of these properties, you’d better avoid considering those websites, at least for link building purpose.
Bold Pushers and Link Networks
I mean that the websites or link networks openly stating that they’ve got quality backlinks for sale - should be left on short notice. Most probably, they have already raised a red flag and Google is coming for them - both that poor websites themselves and their unlucky clients.
Websites or Blogs with Non-unique or Poor Content
Make sure not to deal with the websites or pages with either very poorly written content, with little or no unique content. Don’t hesitate to pick some sentences from page content at random and fill them in Google’s search bar. Most commonly, such resources scrapping or duplicating content are nothing but scammers or at least selling the worst quality links that would be toxic for your website, nearly under any circumstances.
