How to become one of the top search sellers on Amazon?

Probably no discussion on how to become one of the top search sellers on Amazon would make sense without the most important part of ecommerce success known as automation. Below I'm going to quickly run through three powerful ways of automation on Amazon – with product keyword research and product repricing needed to see yourself listed among the top search sellers on Amazon.

Keyword Research

The question about the right keywords and how to find them is probably the most frequently referred issue for novice sellers on Amazon, particularly those having recently transferred from the original SEO for Google search. And considering that there is no default keyword research tool on Amazon, the short answer is that you can perform it manually by the following bullet points:

  • Use Google Keyword Planner to identify a popular root keyword.
  • Put that keyword into the product search bar on Amazon.
  • See search suggestions to bet a big picture of your individual situation.

As you may have already guessed, doing it manually would be a really huge task, even for one single keyword or long-tail phrase used by top search sellers on Amazon. So, what can be done with that? Considering automation, I can recommend using one of the following keyword research tools on your way to becoming a successful seller over there:

  • KTD Amazon Keyword Tool – is a free tool that can help you even with long-tail keyword search suggestions. It works simply by giving you automatically crawled queries seen on Amazon search box for all niche and product related keywords you are looking for.
  • Merchant Keywords – is another premium alternative to help you with the keyword research on Amazon. The thing is that this tool pulls all data together not only from Amazon itself, but uses the system that also pulls data from the major search engines (like Google itself, as well as Yahoo and Bing). That way, Merchant Keywords uses the algorithm to combine the matching search queries on Amazon and give you the most probable traffic estimates.

Product Repricing

I believe that all who managed to win the Buy Box on Amazon at least a couple of times have already started running into this problem. I mean that any close competitor can always use exactly the same tactics to outperform your listings and be seen among the top search sellers on Amazon Buy Box – just undercutting you by a small amount to get ranked ahead of you. And here is when product repricing tools come into play. I personally recommend trying Repricer Express before anything else. This tool has a very easy interface, being among the most responsive and large-volume repricers available on the market for the moment. How it works? Put it simply, this tool is a MUST-have if you have multiple product listings or too many products offered for sale on Amazon. In fact, there is no other way to stay on top of a real cutthroat competition on Amazon without a well-performing repricing software. What's more – this solution has always been among my best suggestions, mainly because it has a flat monthly rate, without any annoying charges based on commission.
