Just like you, I used to wonder how to get backlinks for my website - and avoid that too daunting work of guest posting at all cost. Of course, the lion’s share of webmasters and online business owners are already well-informed that building high-quality backlinks is probably the only way to climb to the top of Google’s search results. Everything about backlinks seemed quite clear to me, except one simple question - is it really possible to get backlinks for my website without bribing? How to find those authoritative sources that would be willing to link to you just because they want to? Well, that is precisely what I’m going to tell you about.

Let’s start. Below is a streetwise method I invented this year to get backlinks for my website - without guest posting, link exchange or, God forbid, cash spending. And there are just three simple steps you should be following to make really advantageous gains in quality link building. Note, this trick works disregarding what industry your website is dealing with. Here they are:

Tier 1

The first thing to be done is to find the web pages or possibly any online resources out of order. Note, however, my smooth plan has nothing to do with broken links. Everything is much simpler. Basically, our potential "victim" must be showing one of the following signs of a misaligned performance - complete shutdown, changed name, having moved to another domain, got standing commercial offers put on hold, or regular updates suspended.

Try to find the website properties that are not valid anymore. I mean that very often even the most successful businesses are suspending a particular feature (e.g., the most recent Google Reader shut down). Or they might as well be recently re-branded. Considering that such features used to be very popular before, there must be a massive pack of valuable backlinks with the other authoritative websites. Of course, the trick works only in case the web page which hosted the service hasn't been actually deleted. To detect a glitch use any standard search strings like service not available; website closed; page no longer exists; no longer available; this site is no longer updated, etc.

Tier 2

Once you have detected a good "victim," it's time for real action - you should locate the links pointing to it. Fill in all these invalid (but still working!) URLs into any backlink checker tool - it’s only up to you to decide. As for me, I used Semalt Analyzer to polish my findings and complete my task. Anyway, you should end up with saving all that list of working backlinks to your main Excel spreadsheet.

So, having all these valuable opportunities in hand, it's time to act a little bit gently. I mean here that your final action is to reach out to all of the live users still linking to the outdated web pages of your choice. Acting that way, all you need is to email people on each outdated link they got, and kindly suggest that your own new link is landed on their web pages. And my trick worked! Many people were happy that I was persistent enough to bring a double value - by detecting their problem and showing them my hard work to get backlinks for my website too.
