Shopify or WordPress?
Jun 13, 2018
Shopify or WordPress??
Srsly ? Shopify ofc
iOS or Android?
Crap question. What do you want yo achieve. How many products. Have you considered bigcommerce etc etc
I have used Shopify before but I just want to know if using WordPress would be cheaper.
Rahul Bevara cheaper but you have hosting and management. How many products. Woo can be great. No monthly sub for some installs. If you are confident there is Magento. It really is complicated.
Richard Young I'm just concerned about having to pay for apps.
How many SKUs
I have about 8 right now.
Rahul Bevara Magento overkill. Unless you want to learn. I would use Woo providing you have payment gateway and are happy with hosting. If you are not happy then use a hosted solution to test. It will be quicker.
Thank you. :) I will check out woocomere and then make a decision
Mercedes or BMW?
Superman or Batman?
Messi or Ronaldo?
Adidas or Nike?
Bro. Enough with the sarcasm. A little help would be appreciated.
That are answers on your question. I though you’ll understand
I understand that you don't have the expertise to make a sensible decision.
That is exactly why you ask so dumb questions. Period.
And you give dumb answers. At least I'm trying to get an opinion. While your are clearly giving out retarded answers. Prove me wrong by giving a better answer bro. No point in arguing over stupid shit!
First of all, this question was already discussed in this group hundreds of times. Just search the group and you'll find answers. Second, you ask about 2 different platforms, each have different purpose, different features, etc... and it's up to each of us what to use. It is the same like "messi or ronaldo" or iphone vs samsung. Nobody will tell you for sure what is better. You should find which is better for you and for your needs. If you weren't able to understand this from my answers I do not see why I should give you better explanation. But I see you are new into this...
Victor Agapii It's always better to learn from other people's experience and mistakes. It will save a lot of time. I'm not new to this. I have used shopify before and I was sick of having to get an app for everything. So, I was asking about what works for others. If you don't wanna give a better explanation then don't. I don't need your advise. I'm not an idiot to try out everything myself I don't have the time to try out everything. I believe in smart work.
That's just hilarious. You can't have success with that kind of mindset in ecom. Ecom is a business where you should test everything and to check what works for you not for others.
Victor Agapii I don't see the point in trying out different platforms for hosting a store. I wouldn't mind testing different products or different traffic sources. You're argument is pointless bro.
So why you ask then? What is the reason of this dumb, generic, broad question if you do not see the point to try different platforms for your store? :D
Victor Agapii You're just hell-bent on arguing brother. As I mentioned in my previous comment. I have already tried Shopify. I wanna know if there any advantages in using other platforms. Hence my board question.
"I do not see the point in trying different platforms, but I already tried..." LMFAO! btw, try google, this question was covered long time ago by numerous blogs and forums and experts and so on.
Victor Agapii You moron. There's no point in trying out every single platform. Obviously when others have tried something their experiences are enough to understand if it'll work for me or not. Unlike you I'm not retarded. If see that you clearly are really jobless. Willing to try out everything out their and arguing like this. Quit acting your shoe size. Grow up! I don't believe in everything that is written on the internet. I'm not that stupid. You keep laughing your fucking ass off. That's all you're good for
This is most desperate comment I read so far )) First you say you'll not try new platforms, then you say you already tried shopify, then again you say it is pointless to try different platforms, in other thread you say you'll look into magento
Im really sorry. I can't argue with morons like you who have nothing to share apart from sarcasm. I have better things to do in life. I'm not boasting that I'm an expert unlike you. You speak a lot of crap. The day you understand that learning from what others have experienced is better than reading a blog post or watching a video you'll reach greater heights. I'm pretty sure you'll never get my point. I can't bring my IQ down to your level and keep arguing. I don't need advise on what I should change about myself. You're not my therapist. In this entire thread you didn't share jack shit! So please buzz off. I can't be more polite than this.
you are just frustrated. that's also normal. start accepting yourself as you are. You do not need to pretend to be a person you are not
Some people just talk a shit load of crap. You're just one among them.
Trump or Obama?
Victor Agapii Get a life
Life or Death?
Blondes or brunettes ?
Shopify. Wordpress wasn't made for eComm. It was made for building blogs and websites.
Shopify has a lot of apps and plugins. I just want to create a neat store and also create that sense of urgency and have those pop ups and countdown timers. I just wanted to know if this was possible with WordPress
Rahul Bevara it is possible on Wordpress but you will need several plugins to do this. Wordpress doesn't work as efficiently like Shopify when you have many apps running in the background. If you are looking for an open source shopping cart that is free to use and just as powerful as Shopify, look into Magento Community Edition.
Eric Smith I will look into Magneto. Thanks for the help :)
You are very wrong about Woo :)
Manolis Avagiannis agree to disagree. Woocommerce is a tiny little script that extends Wordpress. It is nothing more than an application. Shopify is advanced software written with high order functions made especially for eComm. You almost can't compare WooCommerce to Shopify because Wordpress isn't a dedicated eCommerce solution, nor does it pretend to be. It is a Content Management System made for blogging and building websites.
Eric Smith I agree that Shopify was developed specially for ecom but for a script to create blogs, Wordpress/Woocommerce made a very big step into ecom. There are not so many and easy plug-and-play addons that Shopify has, but it creates its own path and if you have a little patience you can do great things with Woo too!
Manolis Avagiannis I am not talking about convenience and ease of use, I am talking more in terms of technical capability. WooCoomerce is nowhere near as sopheistacted as Shopify.
Eric Smith Yes but for someone like me that use Wordpress from 2009 it's easier to build my e-shops
I Think It Depends How Many Products Do You Have and Hosting As Well On Wordpress If You Spend Good Sort Of Money On can Use Wordpress Upto Upload 7000 Products that Is Not Too Small As We Think Further I Will Not Go Shopify But If My Products Will Increase I will Prefer to Move Wordpress to Opencart Or Prestashop ..
I use WP/woocommerce, works well for my company.
It depends on your breakfast.
How about both? Shopify for final checkout and Wordpress for funnels? It basically cost nothing in Wordpress. You can set up multisite and serve over 30 landing pages (unique domain sites) on a 2 core instance. Zero cost after initial setup. And you can scale fairly quickly and provision hundreds on the fly.
Thank you. That's a great idea. :D But how to direct them through the funnel? How can I send them to shopify for the checkout?
onclick checkout . Maybe something like this
Shopify for ease of use and smooth transactions. WP cheaper but takes more moving parts/
Depends Upon Your Need For Small Scale Woo Commerce Are Pretty Awsome To Deal Are Many Other Good Cms like Prestashop or Opencart But If You Have Good Hosting Like Aws Or Google Cloud You Will Never Find any Sort Of Difficulity to Use Over If You Know How to Design and Seo You Will Never go To Luck!
