guys. please help guys.
maybe you should add some more infos such as what site what you did recently etc etc
On page ,google suggest and long tail.
try to make web2 google nowadays prefering to web 2
Since when your site started dropping traffic?
Can’t help without details and what you have done to the site so far and recently.
That's only showing clicks, have the positions changed too? What have you done recently? What are you working on? Way too little info to help you
Please mention the date of dropping clicks
Turn the graph upside down.
On 7th of April, I redirect domain name to (we had to install WordPress on xyzkeyword, and XYZ was a static page with a new design.), but it messed up google SERP. When i notice this, I redirect it back to and re-design the static page into WordPress. That was on 14th of April. Daniele Boris Cosentino Ankur Soni Deepak Tiwari Samantha Avitan Jeremy Dawes
still not enough info
Asif Yusuf that's all I did man.
Sharat Nair OK, did you do a site move in Search console if it is redirecting to a new URL? I think you may have been affected by another Google update possibly
Asif Yusuf to harsh and too all of a sudden and in a very convenient time I hardly think is a google update. Aniway if I click on i get a 404 so probably you messed up with the redirection and now you get less then half the traffic
Daniele Boris Cosentino he used that as an example URL.
Asif Yusuf loool
Asif Yusuf I tough it was serious ahahahah
Asif Yusuf no. I didn't changed in on google Search Console man.
Sharat Nair no I mean in Search Console you can do what is called a "site move" if you are changing URL. You changed URL of the site right?
Asif Yusuf i was not aware on that. when i changed it back the original domain. i.e. . now it does not matter, right?
How did you set the redirects mate? Using htaccess? Did you do them manually or with a function?
Sharat Nair so you changed URL and changed URL back? Have you got search console set up?
Asif Yusuf yes.. this screenshot is from search console only
for both URL's? I think Google indexed both sites. Set a preferred site then you dropped the domain. You changed the construct of the pages to Wordpress. Was the content balance the same for those pages?. When you say white hat really depends as some people white, black if you get my drift. No one can really help you if we can see the domain. But in absence of that Its very unlikley its a technical issues. If your content was good and people like it then your site would have recovered by now
a permanent redirect 301 from old domain to new domain in my experience will pass on whatever ranking the old domain had within maybe a month at most. have not done it often but seems to be the case.
So you've changed domains twice, redirected twice and now there's an issue? You've done something wrong there in the transfer/redirect and now need to check how you set those up and changed them
Jeremy Billett Asif Yusuf yes. that's what i did
You also changed the CMS to wordpress right?
Asif Yusuf yup
Sharat Nair I think you were ranking before based on the fact you were ranking previously. When you did all those changes it made Google reconsider your content and pushed it down. The other sites that replaced you are doing better with CTR. The only way back really is to improve your content. The good news is Google has not de-indexed you and you have a track record. So maybe time to really visit the SEO basics and ask yourself does this website help searches I am targeting. If you really nail the content and get engagement you could be back in 4-6 months
Asif Yusuf maybe. that can be the case. so what should i do?
Hey Sharat look at the keywords and pages. Look at the sites that are ranking. What can you do that is the same what is it that you can do which is better?
Sharat Nair wait what, you made changes on website, on 14th of July, and after 10 months (today is may) your website went down - right?
sorry.. not July. its April..
it makes sense now :) if I were you, I would like to check if the drop was on a specific page or in the whole domain. then make sure that you have not corrupted the redirects and you do not have any loops, etc. compare the optimization of the old site with the new one Unfortunately, my crystal ball is broken so i can't help more :(
Michał Kowalczyk "my crystal ball is broken so i can't help more :( " what was that man! and thanks.. i will check that
Sharat: It could refer to two things; one is the common understanding, that SEO is "crystalball work" - not en exact science. The other thing is; you give so little information about your site, that we need a crystal ball to understand what you mean.
2nd thing :)
Internal linking is correct?
yup. their was some problem. that why i changed it back. now its fixed
Do you only perform “white hat” methods regarding the site? Otherwise it could be a penalty.
this is more likely I agree
Only White hat.
No messages in searchconsole from Google then? Mostly they inform you when you get a penalty OR indicates issues on the site.
and i don't see. any messages on seachconsole
Bart van Spaandonk not always only in extreme cases
You can get a 100% exact response on what to do you, if you give us the exact domainnames.
Is it http or https?
