Configuring a CNAME record

You can either register the new domain name or transfer our DSD to your subdomain. If you want to transfer DSD, you have to add the CNAME record to your DNS settings.

The control panels differ from one registrar to another. However, it won't be a problem for you as we provide standard instructions for settings configuration. The whole process is made up of a few simple steps:

  1. Log in to the domain registrar Control panel (Administration Page) and go to the Settings section.
  2. You will find the "Manage subdomains" section next to the selected domain. Choose "DNS" from a list.
  3. Click "Add record" and select the type - CNAME.
  4. Add the desired subdomain to the "Host" field.

Example for a subdomain

TypeName / Host / AliasTTLPoints to / Value / Data / Destination
CNAMEseo3600cname.yourseoboard.com.

If you want to launch a DSD at your root domain, add @ or www to the "Host" field.

Example for a root domain

Type Name / Host / Alias TTL Points to / Value / Data / Destination
CNAME @
3600 cname.yourseoboard.com.

5. Add cname.yourseoboard.comto the "Point to" field. Please be sure to put a dot after cname.yourseoboard.com. Then click on the Save (or Update) button.

Please note that it may take a few minutes to a few hours before these changes come into effect.
